GCSE Results 2015

Students and staff have been celebrating the release of our GCSE results and another pleasing set of grades for Campion students.

We are delighted for our Year 11 students and the gallery of photographs reflects something of the excitement and joy that could be felt as they received their well-deserved results.

Despite national warnings of ongoing exam results volatility and further strengthening of grades at a national level, our students have proved that their hard work and the support of their teachers remains a good combination and at the very highest grades too.

Special attention must be paid to the excellent increase in outcomes for those achieving A*-A grades; initial analysis shows there was a pleasing increase at A*-A grades in Maths and Spanish, but most notable are the following excellent increases, once again all at A*-A; Biology (up 14%), Business (up 15%), English Language (up 14%), Film Studies (up 26%), PE (up 14%) and Resistant Materials (up 31%).

These superb outcomes buck the national trend which fell for A*-A grades - they also reflect the excellent teaching our students have received to increase their grades at theveryhighestlevel. Ineachof these subjects, the percentage of A*-C grades has also increased, with Dance (up 30%) and Drama (up 12%) at A*-C too.

There were many outstanding performances including Lucy Adams, who achieved an incredible A* in ALL 11 subjects. A further 18 students have achieved at least 8A*- A grades.

These successful results demonstrate the dedication of our highly motivated students and the commitment of our staff; I thank all colleagues, and parents too, for providingtheircontinuedsupport and inspiration to our young people which has enabled them to achieve these super outcomes.

Well done, Year 11 – we are proud of your success!

Claire Whitmore, Headteacher.
