Literacy During Lockdown @CampionLiteracy

With many of us finding extra time on our hands, lockdown seems to have provided an unforeseen opportunity to get stuck into a good book.  For regular readers it has been a great chance to sit down, unwind and destress.  For others, it has been a good time to start reading again.  If you’ve not yet had chance to read during lockdown, maybe you could find a book this week.  For ideas on what to read, have a look at the sites listed below.

https://schoolreadinglist.co.uk/category/secondary-ks3-ks4-reading-lists/
https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/our-recommendations/great-books-guide/

Don’t forget the audiobooks too!
www.audible.co.uk is offering a free audio book.
https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/ David Walliams is publishing an audio clip of a few chapters of one of his books everyday at 11am.

Library Plus - https://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/councilservices/library-service/e-reads-and-audio/Pages/e-books.aspx    eBooks
https://thereadingrealm.co.uk/ has online activities, interviews and quizzes.
www.twinkl.co.uk is free for parents during lockdown.  It does have some great topic based comprehension work as well as grammar help should your child need it.  Narrow your search to KS3 or KS4 to avoid the Primary level work showing up.

Please follow @CampionLiteracy on twitter and don’t forget to share your book recommendations.
Stay safe and keep reading!
