In School COVID-19 Testing - To maximise safety we are planning on testing all students on the first day they return to school.

Completing your consent form for COVID-19 testing - If you have not already done so please complete the consent and registration forms. These will be resent via Intouch mail; any questions contact covidconsent@campion.northants.sch.uk.

Attendance- The Government has made it very clear that attendance from these dates, in all but the most extreme circumstances, is mandatory. If you do have any concerns, then please email Mr King, S.King@campion.northants.sch.uk

Face Coverings- Government guidance is that face coverings will now be worn in classrooms as well as other indoor social areas. They do not need to be worn when students are in their designated outdoor areas at break and lunch time, or during practical PE lessons. All students MUST wear a face covering appropriately when moving around the site AND when in their lessons. Students are only permitted to remove their mask when sat eating in the dining areas, or in their designated outside break/lunch ‘play’ area.  Students are NOT permitted to eat in corridors, classrooms or whilst moving around the site.  Exemptions will be in place, but we hope that this will only occur when absolutely needed, so that we can play our part to protect others.  Please can you ensure that your child brings two face masks to school each day and a plastic bag to keep them in or to dispose of them.

School transportation – All school buses will run as normal from Monday 8th March. All students must wear a face covering whilst travelling to and from school.

Home testing – The Government has announced that after the initial testing period at school, both staff and students will be supplied with LFD test kits to self-swab and to test themselves twice a week at home. Home Tests will be issued once students have completed three tests at school. Staff and students must report their result to NHS Test and Trace as soon as the test is completed either online or by telephone. It is fairly straightforward and further instructions will follow.

Ventilation- There will be an increased emphasis on keeping spaces well ventilated. Windows and doors will be kept open when appropriate.

Key worker/vulnerable children – Onsite provision for vulnerable children and the children of key workers will continue and these students will attend their timetabled lessons with their class teachers. Students will need to report to their normal tutor rooms at the start of the day from Monday 8th March.

Reminder on Routines – We will shortly be sending out updates and reminders of key routines to all students and parents. Staff will go over these again on the first day back.

Extra-curricular Clubs and Activities – Will start again in a phased approach. More details will follow.

Preparing uniform - Please check that your child’s uniform fits. All students should be in the correct uniform each day; they should wear their PE Kits on the days they have a timetabled practical PE lesson. On your child’s first day back a full uniform and equipment check will be carried out.

We understand that there may be circumstances where sourcing the correct uniform will be difficult for some parents. If you have financial barriers or any other concerns regarding uniform; please contact your child’s Year Manager.

Canteen - the canteen will be open on our return to school. Please ensure that your child has sufficient funds on their account before returning.

Free School Meals – If your circumstances have changed and you think you may now be eligible to claim free school meals for your child, please see the website for more information.  http://www.campion.northants.sch.uk/150/free-school-meals

Symptoms – Please do not send your child into school if they have any symptoms or are a close contact with someone who has tested positive in the past 10 days please email attendance@campion.northants.sch.uk

Positive tests – Please email covid@campion.northants.sch.uk if anyone in your household tests positive.

Remote learning – Live lessons will continue for your child until they return to school.  We will revert to our normal school timetable and timings from the 8th March to align with the children who are in school.  Your child must attend their virtual tutor time at 8.45am. The week beginning the 8th of March is a Week 2A.

Health and Safety - Following the guidance on social distancing – Although things are looking much better it is very clear that we all need to keep playing our part and follow the existing guidance, whilst also encouraging others to do the same. All staff and students will follow a one-way system within each block. Each class room will have sanitiser and cleaning products to wipe down surfaces.

We have fully reviewed and updated our risk assessment which is on the website

It is only natural to have some mixed feelings about the return, as always we will work together as a school to support one another. As always, we may need to make a few tweaks to our plans, but we will keep you updated. Equally if you have any questions or comments then do not hesitate to email the relevant member of staff at school. Alternatively please email csoffice@campion.northants.sch.uk and we will direct your query to the relevant person.

Yours sincerely

Ms P Hammond
