Our inspiring curriculum will offer all students the opportunities and experiences to develop the knowledge, skills and character they need to achieve a brilliant future for themselves and others.
Our curriculum is designed to inspire a love of learning and provides a broad and balanced range of subjects across all key stages
Our curriculum allows for equal opportunities, regardless of starting points, and we endeavour to overcome barriers for students with disadvantages, including background or disability. We recognise the need to drive aspiration for all students regardless of ability and provide the opportunities for them to succeed.

Our curriculum is well sequenced across all key Stages to build knowledge and understanding as illustrated in our individual subject curriculum road maps. Our curriculum follows a spiral design which focuses upon students knowing more and remembering more.
PSHE is delivered to all students in dedicated timetabled lessons and is enhanced by the tutor and assembly programmes that promote a knowledge of cultural capital and diversity. Careers advice and education is provided by specialist staff and work-related learning is embedded within different subjects at various stages of a student’s education.
Curriculum at Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9)
Core aims:
- To ensure all students experience a broad and balanced curriculum
- To allow students to experience a full breadth of subjects across a three year KS3 to support students in making informed options choices at KS4
- To place a strong emphasis on spaced retrieval practice, sequencing and interleaving to support the retention of knowledge
- To promote a love of reading trough timetabled Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) lessons

Curriculum at KS4
The curriculum aims to promote valuable learning experiences in a range of subjects and is broad and balanced. Students are able to select four options subjects to study alongside the core subjects of English Language, English Literature, Maths, double award Science (or separate Science), Religious Studies, PSHCE and PE.
There is an expectation that all students have the opportunity to study either a Modern Foreign language or Humanities subject (EBAcc). This is to ensure students complete this stage of their education with a broad range of qualifications for their next steps and preparation for adult life. Consideration of the ambition to be entered for the full EBacc (studying a foreign language and a humanities subject as well as Maths, English and Science GCSEs) is ongoing but will include what is best for the needs of students.

Curriculum at KS5
Students undertake two years of study. All courses, apart from the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), run over two years.
The School offers a range of courses, currently over 5 option blocks. Courses provide routes for students to achieve the desired grades/ subject content for Russell Group Universities. In addition, the School is aiming to extend vocational provision. This will suit a wider variety of learners. GCSE English and Maths retake courses are provided for students who have not secured a Grade 4 or above.
